ANALISIS DAMPAK EKONOMI DARI WISATA PERAHU KALIMAS DALAM MENDORONG KESEJAHTERAAN MASYARAKAT LOKAL

Abstract

The Kalimas Boat Tour is a form of utilization of natural resources in the form of a historic river and has now been developed into a water tourism destination located in Surabaya. In addition to being a recreational facility, this tourism also aims to improve the welfare of the local community. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Focusing on the community's economy through the development of the tourism sector. The research location is along the Kalimas River, specifically in the culinary tourism center of Taman Prestasi. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation with tourism managers, local business actors or the surrounding community, and tourists. The results of this study indicate that the development of tourism in the Kalimas Boat Tour has had an impact on the economy. This can be seen from the development of this tourism has a direct positive impact on the community in the form of increased income, business opportunities and employment in the tourist area. However, there are challenges such as the tourism being unable to operate at times due to low water levels. This needs to be addressed optimally to ensure tourists visit and can improve the local economy. This study provides recommendations to the management to maintain this tourist destination through sustainable management and active participation of the local community. Therefore, the Kalimas Boat Tour has the potential to become a model for water tourism development that supports welfare without sacrificing environmental sustainability.
