ONLINE BUYING AND SELLING TRANSACTIONS (E-COMMERCE) IN AN ISLAMIC ECONOMIC PERSPECTIVE

The development of information technology has brought significant changes in the buying and selling transaction system, one of which is through the practice of e-commerce or online buying and selling. This transaction allows sellers and buyers to interact without meeting in person, which raises a number of problems from an Islamic legal perspective, such as the validity of the contract, clarity of goods, and the potential for fraud (gharar). This study aims to examine online buying and selling transactions based on Islamic economic principles, with a focus on the suitability of e-commerce practices to sharia law. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach (library research), using various references from books, scientific journals, and relevant articles. The results of the study indicate that online buying and selling transactions are permitted in Islam as long as they meet the pillars and conditions of a valid sale and purchase, and avoid prohibited elements such as usury, gharar, and fraud. The principles of honesty, justice, and openness must be the main foundations in every online transaction so that it remains in accordance with Islamic economic values.
